How far are we now from a C target?

Just an open problem, not so serious, but neither pure trolling.
There will be certainly more verbose things than C++ to do, but with the power of Haxe itself, how much verbosity of the work for “targeting C” could we reduce by?

EDIT: I suck i found HL/C just now…
well. we’re starting from the opposite direction… more readable C code?

Yeah HL is pretty new but it does work as a C target but with a dll/so/dylib that you link to. I don’t know how suitable it would be to some of C’s use cases that seem hard to do with haxe (like embedded programming), but the performance is already pretty good afaict.
