I’ve recently updated my [hxdefold](https://github.com/hxdefold/hxdefold) library that allows writing scripts for the [Defold game engine](https://www.defold.com/) in Haxe, using Haxe’s Lua target. It’s mostly an extern definition library with 1:1 mapping to the Defold API with a bit of macro magic to make it work with Defold’s script component file convention.

While there’s definitely some room for improvements, I think the library already provides a nice coding experience, so if you fancy writing some Haxe code for a popular 2D game engine - give it a try! 🙂

There is a nice discussion here on the Defold’s own forum: [Haxe + Defold = ❤️ - The Defoldmine - Defold game engine forum](https://forum.defold.com/t/haxe-defold/44368/11)
